Semantion, the creator of the SOA Information Model (SOA-IM) and SOA Virtual Machine (SOA-VM), is the first vendor to offer a semantic-based SOA architectural framework.

Semantion SOA software enables modeling, deployment, and execution of business processes without coding.

Semantion SOA

All previous turning points in the software industry raised the abstract level of the technology use but have not been able to reconcile business with technology. Semantion offers a SOA-based solution supporting the business and technology reconciliation. The core of that reconciliation is a semantic-based architectural framework whose components are: SOA Language (SOA-L) and SOA Virtual Machine (SOA-VM). Semantion SOA, the semantic-based architectural framework, is based on the Federated Enterprise Reference Architecture (FERA). We refer to it as the FERA-based SOA (FERA-SOA). Read more.

SOA and FERA

In 2003 Semantion added Federated Enterprise Reference Architecture (FERA) to its overall products' architecture. FERA is a refrence architecture and a methodology that guides end-users how to define and model business processes and how to translate business process requirements into the complete SOA architecture needed to support them.

FERA-based SOA provides support for the following key aspects in a top-down business process-based approach:
  • Business process modeling
  • Document engineering
  • Business process execution
  • Overall architectural integration
  • Standard convergence.
To learn more about FERA-based SOA please read our FERA-based SOA article.
